Travel Itinerary: Day 1-2

DESTINATION

Nairobi, Kenya

There are all sorts of good reasons to enjoy a short stay in Kenya's capital city of Nairobi, like visiting the Giraffe Center to hand-feed tame Rothschild's giraffes, and the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, which rescues orphaned elephants and rhinos. Both are such heartwarming experiences. Also of interest are the Karen Blixen Museum and African curio markets.

ACCOMMODATION | 1 NIGHT

House of Waine

This grand mansion-style hotel is on the edge of Nairobi's leafy suburbs, close to the Karen Blixen Museum, Giraffe Center, and Daphne Sheldrick Wildlife Sanctuary. Start or finish your Kenyan safari in style, with a comfortable stay here.

Travel Itinerary: Day 2-5

DESTINATION

Masai Mara Conservancies

Bordering the Masai Mara National Reserve, privately managed conservancies offer an exclusive and low-density safari experience with vast open plains and exceptional wildlife viewing. Camps and lodges are typically small and intimate, blending luxury with a strong focus on conservation and community. Game viewing is outstanding year-round, with excellent chances to see the Big Five, and during the Great Migration, dramatic river crossings and large herds pass through the area. Unlike the main reserve, conservancies allow off-road driving, night safaris, and guided walks, creating a more flexible and immersive experience.

ACCOMMODATION | 3 NIGHTS

Angama Mara

Suspended high above the Maasai Mara along the edge of the Great Rift Valley, Angama Mara commands breathtaking views across endless plains where wildlife moves far below. Contemporary tented suites of glass and canvas open completely to the horizon, creating a sense of floating above the landscape. Exceptional guiding, access to a private concession, and the nearby Mara Triangle ensure superb year-round game viewing and front-row seats to the Great Migration, while warm Kenyan hospitality and thoughtful design make each stay deeply memorable.

Travel Itinerary: Day 5-6

DESTINATION

Kigali, Rwanda

Many visitors use Kigali for a one-stop on their way to a gorilla trek and see only the airport or their overnight hotel. If you venture out, you will be rewarded with the cleanest and most progressive city in Africa, where there is a complete ban on plastics and monthly community clean-ups. Artistic expression by local craftspeople and artists is abundant in a blast of African color, with art galleries, designer shops, and excellent restaurants and cafes.

ACCOMMODATION |1 NIGHT

Kigali Serena Hotel

On one of Kigali's most charming boulevards, this five-star hotel showcases Rwandese cultural art, creating a relaxed yet elegant feel, attractive to international visitors, diplomats, and executives. It's a lush city retreat with pool, restaurants, spa, concierge, and business services.

Travel Itinerary: Day 6-8

DESTINATION

Volcanoes National Park, Rwanda

The world’s last remaining gorillas inhabit the forested peaks of the Virunga Mountain. One of Africa’s most enriching and memorable wildlife encounters entails procuring a coveted permit, then trekking 2 to 6 hours into the jungle in order to meet the gorilla face to face on their home turf. Living amongst the area’s extinct volcanoes are also golden monkeys, bush duikers, and buffaloes.

ACCOMMODATION | 2 NIGHTS

Bisate Lodge

Nestled within an eroded volcanic cone, Bisate Lodge features iconic, forest-side villas offering dramatic views. This world-class retreat provides the ultimate base for life-changing gorilla encounters in the heart of Rwanda.
